My professional background has been that of classroom teacher and, until recently, Director of Mental Health Education Services for Arapahoe/Douglas Mental Health Network in Centennial, Colorado, a position I held for 26 years. A major portion of my professional responsibilities involved creating mental health materials (curricula) for classroom teachers, school counselors, parents, and the general public.
Following my retirement in 2005, I continued to pursue my interest in writing, but changed my focus to more personal issues, including years spent researching the details of The Secrets They Kept and writing personal essays on a variety of subjects.
I currently divide my time between Colorado and Arizona.
